Kyle is finishing up his last semester of his BFA in Print Making at CSULB. After he graduates, he has intentions of moving to the United Kingdom or to New York. He is considering pursuing an MFA in Visual Anthropology. He is particularly interested in Greek mythology and it inspires most of his work.

Much of Kyle’s work makes use of dark imagery. The wooden mask that he carved is very jagged and looks as though parts of it are burnt. The first image shows another wooden sculpture that is much smoother to the touch but has images on it that tend to be more jagged.

Kyle said that he is trying to create a very sensory experience for everyone that comes to this exhibit. He tries to make use of visuals, smells, and touch. He wants everyone that experiences this exhibit to feel something about it even if they just think it is dark and creepy.

I think he did a great job of accomplishing this. His exhibit made me feel spooked as soon as I entered. I was intrigued though. His work is great and made me want to understand it more. It was creepy and interesting at the same time.
