This week I attended the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students. I had a fantastic experience at this conference. I presented a poster on my research and had to present it to three different judges over the period of an hour and a half for a chance to win a poster presentation award. I thought I knocked my presentation out of the park with the first and third judges, but I didn’t think the second one went so well because I couldn’t seem to get the idea across to him. BUT! I was awarded one of the poster presentation awards!! So, I must have done well enough to impress the second judge as well. I was super excited! Other than my poster presentation, I talked to many recruiters at different graduate school programs. It was a great networking opportunity for me and I am definitely happy that I attended the conference this year.
